Dean’s Note

Welcome to the Faculty of Law of the National University of Rwanda. Studying Law just like working at the Law Faculty at the National University of Rwanda, the premier Rwandan University, and the only public Law school, is not only rewarding but also energizing and intellectually stimulating, thanks to its team spirit tradition, and good working and studying environment.

The Faculty is blessed with young, highly dynamic and committed staff, but also with good quality students (both undergraduate and postgraduate) drawn from all parts of the country and beyond. In its post graduate program, the Faculty is proud of its students, majority of whom are also highly responsible people both in public as well as in private sectors. The Faculty’s alumni is composed of high profile people both locally and internationally, in Governments, Judiciary, Prosecution, private sector, etc. Studying Law at NUR gives you an opportunity to cross the boarders of Legal Systems, thanks to our Rwandan mixed legal system that combines both Common Law and Civil Law systems.
